It’s going to be an out of this world Christmas at Kennedy Space Center as the Visitor Complex celebrates the season with the second annual Holidays in Space. Now through Jan. 7, guests to Kennedy Space Center is spreading the holiday cheer with their special space holiday events including a decked out Visitor Complex complete with a gorgeous array of holiday decorations including wreaths and garlands, daily visits and storytelling from Santa and Mrs. Claus and carolers singing favorite holiday songs. Here is how you can get into the holiday spirit during Holidays in Space: Santa’s Launch Control Center – Meet Santa on his way back from space in Santa’s Launch Control Center located between Astronaut Encounter and Robot Scouts. Here, Santa will greet guests, listen to wish lists and pose for photos while elves snap the perfect family photo. You can greet Santa at 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m, noon and 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Space Shop. Story Time with Santa and Mrs. Claus – Once you’ve met Santa enjoy story time with Mrs. Claus as she reads special space-themed stories including “The Cat in the Hat – There’s No Place Like Space” and “What the Moon is Like.” Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available through Dec. 24 at 3:30 p.m. at Santa’s Launch Control Center. IMAX – Kennedy Space Center’s IMAX Theater will take you inside the holiday traditions of each of the International Space Station (ISS) partners including Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States. Prior to the IMAX film, you’ll witness actual images of ISS crews celebrating the holidays in space. Holiday Carolers – A holiday celebration isn’t complete without your favorite holiday tunes. That’s why Kennedy Space Center has brought together a team of international carolers to perform traditional songs including “Silver Bells,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Let it Snow,” “Feliz Navidad” and more throughout the complex. The international carolers will be singing their way through the Space Center at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon at the Rocket Garden and 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Saturn V Center. Rocket Garden – Holiday in Space’s biggest draw is the 42’ ISS-themed Christmas tree located in the Rocket Garden. Adorned with colorful bulbs and 600 miniature flags from the 15 ISS partner countries, the Christmas tree can be seen from space! Not really but it’s still spectacular. The International Space Station mural just outside of the Rocket Garden is also decorated for the season with glowing lights.
