The Entertainment Capital of Orlando is about to become even more entertaining as Universal Orlando’s CityWalk plans some interesting changes to some of its most popular venues.

In July the Orlando theme park filed several new demolition/building permits with the City of Orlando for the renovation for three CityWalk venues. One of the projects, which was named Project 294 called for “interior remodel of existing venue in Space 294 CityWalk.” It was later discovered that Space 294 is home to the Pastamore Market Café. According to the plans a new pizza restaurant will replace Pastamore Market Café.

Another project filed was Project 102 on June 28. This project consists of “Demolition of interior and exterior construction in existing venue space 102 in CityWalk.” Space 102 is currently home to the Latin Quarter restaurant. According to the comments on the permit, this is for demolition only and there is no indication of what will take its place. There are, however rumors that it will be replaced by a new Mexican Restaurant.

The third project, named “PRJ IOA Starbucks 208,” calls for “Interior and exterior demolition of an existing venue in space 208 in CityWalk.” This permit isn’t as straight forward as the others but it does suggest demolition to the current Starbucks in CityWalk. The mention of Islands of Adventure could mean Starbucks will be re-located to the adventure park, which would help with those early risers heading to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. There are also rumors that the coffee shop will just be moved to the lower level of CityWalk replacing the current Endangered Species store.

*UPDATE* Rumors are swirling about the future for NBA City. At this time, a WWE representative stated “WWE has no plans to open a Hall of Fame at Universal,” so as cool as it sounds to have a WWE Hall of Fame on CityWalk; no plans are in the works according to WWE. And lastly, there is also talk of the Galaxy Bar reopening as some kind of high-end snack bar featuring unique hot dog creations.

Construction walls are already up for some of these projects so now it’s just a matter of time before we know what’s really changing and what’s staying the same. If you want to see the changes for yourself and then spend the day at either Universal Orlando theme park, look for discounted tickets right here on Best of Orlando. Stay tuned for more details on when the CityWalk changes will be complete.
