About Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park
One of the two Walt Disney World ® Resort water parks, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park presents a winter wonderland of splishing and splashing fun! Once upon a time, a freak snow storm hit the Central Florida area. One smart little entrepreneurial alligator decided it would be smart to build a ski resort over the vicinity, but little did that alligator know that the cooler weather and snow would not last forever. As soon as the ski resort was built, the sun came out and the resort began to melt. Thus, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park was born! Alligators and creatures alike loved taking the chair lift up to the peaks of the mountains and then sliding down on their bellies, tubes, and mats.
Now you are invited to take part in all of the fun to be had at this ski-resort themed water park! Take the chair lifts up to the top of Mount Gushmore and slide down the numerous slides, racing your friends to the bottom. Try the Downhill Double Dipper, Runoff Rapids, Slush Gusher, Snow Stormers, and the Toboggan Racers! And, if you dare, head to the top of Summit Plummet. As one of the world’s tallest and fastest free-falling waterslides, Summit Plummet stands 120-feet high offering a breath-taking 12-story drop, shooting riders down the slide at speeds of up to 60-mph! Not for the faint of heart, but definitely a must-do for the adventurers of your group.
Kids will love the play areas of Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park! Tike’s Peak offers a watery play area with snow castle fountains, pop-up water jets, and kid-sized slides, perfectly sized for little tikes! For preteens and kids that aren’t quite ready for the big slopes of the mountain and have outgrown the little ones area, Ski Patrol Training Camp is the perfect watery-fun spot for them!
If you are looking to soak up the Florida sun in a fun atmosphere, head to Melt-Away Bay. Melt-Away Bay presents a one-acre wave pool area and beach with beach chairs for the entire family. Smooth your cares away along the lazy river of Cross Country Creek.
So, put on those swimsuits and board shorts (hats and gloves optional) and head to Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park for a winter wonderland of water park fun!
