An epic battle will rage on at Halloween Horror Nights this October when Universal Orlando welcomes two terrifying beasts in the haunted house based on the Alien vs. Predator franchise.
In collaboration with 20th Century Fox, Universal Orlando will put fans right into the horrifying fight between two of the most legendary horror characters as you fight for your life to escape their deadly grasp. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the “Alien vs. Predator” film and the 35th anniversary of the original “Alien” film.
“We’re employing our full arsenal of tricks and techniques in translating the AVP: Alien vs. Predator brand into an authentic and horrific maze experience," said Michael Aiello, Show Director for Universal Studios Orlando, in a statement. "Our guests are going to be thrown head first into this epic battle where only the strong will survive. This is truly going to be an out-of-this-world maze experience that the fans have been waiting for.”
Those who dare to enter this terrifying maze will find themselves trapped in Weyland-Yutani’s secret facilities that deal in extraterrestrial technologies, specifically the Alien Xenomorph species. Recently received surveillance shows that the facility has been compromised by the Yautja, a.k.a. Predators, who are hunting the Aliens. But they aren’t the only things to fear. The Xenomorph species, or Aliens have also gotten loose in the facility and both will take out anybody in their way. You’ll have to navigate through the labyrinth of destruction and try to come out of it alive!
“AVP: Alien vs. Predator’ is by far the most technically complicated and ambitious maze we’ve ever created for ‘Halloween Horror Nights,’” said John Murdy, Creative Director for Universal Studios Hollywood and Executive Producer of “Halloween Horror Nights.” “It’s a monumental undertaking to recreate these massive, iconic characters for a live event. Fortunately, we have the expert assistance of Academy Award-winning make-up artists, Tom Woodruff and Alec Gillis from Amalgamated Dynamic Inc. (ADI), the special effects geniuses behind the original creatures for the AVP film franchise. Tom and Alec and the ADI team are excited about our maze and have graciously allowed us to cast from their original molds so that our maze will be absolutely authentic to the movies.”
In addition to the haunted house, Universal Orlando guests will have to navigate the many mazes and street experiences based on some of the most horrifying television and movie franchises of all time including "The Walking Dead," "Face Off," "From Dusk Till Dawn" and "The Purge: Anarchy."
Halloween Horror Nights 24 begins its terrifying haunt September 19 and runs through November 1.
