Traveling when you have food allergies can be stressful. You never really know if the food you’re eating was prepared properly, or if the chef or waiter took your mention of an allergy seriously. The good news is that, when you are on a Walt Disney World vacation, you never have to worry about that. Disney chefs will bend over backward to accommodate your specific dining needs. You also don’t have to worry about only dining at specific locations, since every restaurant at Disney World is prepared to handle food allergies. With that said, over the years we have developed a few favorites. Here are my top five recommendations for places to eat at Disney World with a food allergy.

Ohana
This wildly popular Disney restaurant is super allergy-friendly! When they say you’re family when you’re there, they are not joking. A chef will work with you here to make you a custom meal that is safe for you. Since the majority of their food is cooked on an oak fire grill, it’s easy for them to adapt. If you are vegan and worried about all the meat they serve, they have plenty of options for you as well. Noodles, veggies and even sushi are all also available here.

Sanaa
This location is such a hidden gem at Animal Kingdom’s Kidani Village – though we suppose it’s not-so-hidden anymore, since it’s always packed, which can, at times, make it hard to get a reservation. The great thing about the menu here is that most of it is already dairy- and gluten-free! They offer a mix of African and Indian food, and we highly recommend speaking to a chef directly here. Many dishes that don’t make allergy-friendly menus can be easily modified to be gluten-free or even dairy-free.

Raglan Road
The step dancing entertainment isn’t the only great thing about Raglan Road – the food is tasty, too! As the name suggests, they serve up traditional Irish fare. They offer a robust selection for those with allergies, but we highly recommend checking out their famous fish and chips.

Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory
Port Orleans French Quarter is home to beignets! Dairy or gluten allergy? No problem! That’s right – you can get gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, egg-free and even vegan beignets here. You’ll also appreciate that, even though this is a resort fast food cafeteria, they have a multitude of options like fish and gumbo and other classic New Orleans-inspired dishes.

Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC
We would be doing you a disservice if we neglected to mention this food allergy heaven located at Disney Springs. The dessert options are endless here: cupcakes, cakes, ice cream, pastries and more! Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC specializes in (mostly) allergen-free products. All their baked goods are gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, vegan and soy-free.

Pro Tip: If you are at a quick-service location, please note that Disney World just added allergy menus to their mobile ordering service. This cuts down on having to wait for a chef and lets you explore your options in advance. The next time you’re hungry on your Disney trip, be sure to check out these allergy-friendly spots!
