The force is strong in Orlando and this Saturday it will be even stronger as Orlando theme parks celebrate May 4! In any other world May 4 is just another day, but in Star Wars world, May 4th has turned into a day where Star Wars fans gather for a celebration of all six films and the animated TV series. May the 4th be with you!
Let’s start at LEGOLAND Florida where Star Wars fans can celebrate the fan-created holiday on both May 4 and May 5. Special events will include a Yoda Build in Fun Town, a Yoda Scavenger Hunt through Miniland U.S.A. (if you successfully complete the hunt you’ll be put into a daily drawing for a prize with park admission tickets and a special LEGO Star Wars Set), showings of a LEGO Star Wars video in the Wells Fargo 4D Theater, and a special photo op in the Star Wars cluster in Miniland. And of course if you visit the park outside of May 4 you can always tour the Star Wars figures in Miniland to get your Star Wars fix!
Meanwhile, Walt Disney World ®’s Hollywood Studios ® will be celebrating May 4th as a part of Disney’s ® new Limited Time Magic program. The day will include a special Jedi training Academy for parents. Usually kids are only allowed to participate in the training, but on May 4th parents can join their children by throwing on a robe, switching on your lightsaber and learning how to defeat, Darth Vader, the Sith, Darth Maul and the Dark Side!
If you’re more of a lover than a fighter you can dance the dark side away in the Star Wars-themed Dance Party. DJ Lobot will spin familiar songs from the Star Wars saga as you boogie alongside your favorite Star Wars characters. And speaking of Star Wars characters, guests will also be able to ride in a galaxy far, far away with R2-D2, C-3PO and many more characters as they join you on the thrilling ride Star Tours.
The special Star Wars holiday will end with the out-of-this-world fireworks show, “Symphony in the Stars.”
May the 4th Be with You at Disney’s Hollywood Studios ® will be followed by the annual Star Wars Weekends beginning May 17 to June 9. The intergalactic event will immerse fans into the Star Wars galaxy with celebrity autographs, more Jedi Training, the Hyperspace Hoopla, the popular ride Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, Star Wars characters and plenty more Star Wars fun.
May the force be with you this May 4th and if it’s not make sure you head to LEGOLAND Florida or Walt Disney World ®! You can find discounted tickets to both theme parks right here on Best of Orlando.
