
Every year, people from all over the world gather to celebrate Irish culture during St. Patrick’s Day. Orlando is no different as St. Patrick’s Day revelers hit the bars and pubs for green beer, Irish cuisine, shamrocks and lots and lots of green attire. And this St. Patrick’s Day you can paint the town green with some of Downtown Disney’s best Irish festivities!
Whether you’re looking for a drink that will have you doing an Irish jig or authentic live Irish music that will, well have you doing an Irish jig, the Mighty St. Patrick’s Day Festival at Downtown Disney ® and Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant is sure to put you into the Irish spirit.
Orlando’s favorite Irish Pub, Raglan Road will kick off the St. Patrick’s Day party this Friday, March 7 with live music, dance and authentic Irish food by Irish celebrity chef Kevin Dundon, host of the PBS Create TV cooking show. The line-up for Irish band performances begins with The Willis Clan and continues with 3 Dollar Band, We Banjo 3, Goitse, The Raglan Rebels, The Brayzen Heads, Creel and The West Coast Trio. And of course you can’t miss the world-famous U2 tribute band Elevation, playing March 15 – 17.
In addition to the Irish music, Raglan Road will also feature The Raglan Road Dancers; renowned Irish dancer and choreographer Ronan McCormack of the original Riverdance cast, who will lead Irish Dance Workshops and Celli traditional music and structured set-dancing event.
Surrounding Downtown Disney ® will also have its fair share of Irish activities including the Mighty Family Fun Zone where families can enjoy a photo opportunity with a Muppets-themed backdrop, learn how to draw your favorite Muppets characters and play games, take part in giveaways and dance the day away with DJ dance parties. There will also be entertainment in the streets including roaming stilt walkers, living statues, face painters, tattoo artists and more.
For those who want to indulge in an Irish drink make sure you stop by a few of Downtown Disney’s ® top restaurants including Paradiso 37, Planet Hollywood, Bongos, T-Rex, Portobello, Fulton’s Crab House, Wolfgang Puck Cafe and more for their own unique Irish libations. And if you want to learn more about St. Patrick’s Day just follow the shamrocks and enjoy a history lesson on the Cliffs of Moher and Blarney Castle.
