Many times once we get through the gates at Disney’s Magic Kingdom ®, we rush to get to our favorite ride, show or attraction before it fills up. But as you hurry along, you’re missing one of the most magical places in Magic Kingdom ® - Main Street U.S.A.

You’re transported to the world of Walt Disney the second you step passed the gates and onto Main Street U.S.A. in Disney’s Magic Kingdom ®. This turn of the century American street is based off a similar street Walt Disney lived on in the 1950’s complete with a barber shop; ice cream parlor; train station; trolley, horse and carriage rides and even performers dressed in period costumes. Main Street U.S.A is such a happy place to be; it’s a shame some don’t know everything this famous street has to offer. If you usually fly right past Main Street U.S.A. to get to Magic Kingdom’s ® many rides and attractions, we urge you to roam around here on you next visit. It really is quite magical!

Immediately after entering Magic Kingdom ® guests will enter Town Square. Complete with a City Hall and Fire Station, Town Square looks and feels like a real town center. You’ll find a real working barbershop, The Harmony Barber Shop where haircuts and beard/moustache trims are offered, and you can even get a Baby’s First Haircut complete with surprises including bubbles, Mickey Mouse stickers, an extra-special “My 1st Haircut” set of Mouse Ears, “pixie dust” and a certificate!

Just under the Main Street Walt Disney World Railroad Station is Town Square Theater. There are several things to see and experience in the Theater, most notably the Mickey Mouse and the Disney Princesses meet-and-greets. A very popular attraction, these meet-and-greets usually, but you can skip the wait times with a FastPass. If you choose the Mickey meet-and-greet you’ll be able to meet and snap photos with Mickey before they get ready for a magic show. And if you choose the Disney Princesses, you’ll be able to meet one of three princesses including Aurora, Cinderella, Belle, Rapunzel and others.

You’ll get your first taste of Magic Kingdom’s many attractions back at the Fire Station where wannabe sorcerers will collect a map and a packet of spell cards for the interactive game Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. Guests will then head out on a quest as an apprentice of the wizard Merlin to help battle Hades and the rest of the evil that tries to take over the park.

Just a walk down Main Street U.S.A. brings all kinds of interactive fun and unique attractions. On any given day guests can get caricatures or silhouettes drawn, watch the Dapper Dans Barber Shop Quartet perform, meet the Mayor of Main Street U.S.A., or even take a trolley, horse or carriage ride down the street.

Foodies will also be able to enjoy unique food offerings and sweet treats as they stroll along the street. The Main Street Confectionary is an absolute must-stop if you have a sweet tooth as it is filled with more candy, candy apples, cookies and fudge than any other store in Magic Kingdom ®. And if it’s a hot day you can cool off and indulge at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. Enjoy an All American Sundae, Hand Scooped Ice Cream Cone, Ice Cream Float and so many more sweet treats at this stop. If you’re looking for something a little heartier stop by Casey’s Corner for corn dog nuggets; chili cheese, barbecue slaw, or Chicago dogs. And this summer you can add a little jolt to your visit with a new Starbucks where Main Street Bakery used to be!

Main Street U.S.A. is also the perfect spot to check out your favorite parade from Celebrate A Dream Come True Parade to Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party.
