Fantasyland in Disney’s Magic Kingdom is a very special place. Guests of all ages can step right into their favorite Disney stories through a series of attractions in this area. One of the most popular attractions in Fantasyland is The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, so today we’re sharing six fun facts about the ride!
This attraction was home to one of the very first interactive queues in Magic Kingdom. Guests can play in Rabbit’s garden, read pages from the Winnie the Pooh books, and even try swiping honey right off the pages! These little distractions help the time in line go by much quicker, which can come in handy for popular attractions like this one.
Mr. Toad Tie In
Before The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh made its way to the Magic Kingdom, there was another ride that occupied this space. Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride took guests on a jerky journey through the world of Mr. Toad, but in September 1998, the attraction closed for good. Although it may no longer be Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, if you keep your eyes peeled you can spot a picture of Mr. Toad handing the deed to Owl within the attraction!
The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh is a great attraction for guests of all ages to enjoy together. The colorful and music journey through Pooh’s many adventures is such a blast that you can’t help but smile! Since FastPass+ reservations are available for this attraction, don’t forget to grab yours to save you time in line.
Two Decades of Pooh
Did you know that the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh has been a part of Magic Kingdom for two decades? The attraction originally opened on June 5, 1999 and it has been delighting guests daily ever since!
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea
You know about the nod to Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, but there’s a second Easter Egg to spot in the play area in front of the attraction as well. 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea is a Fantasyland attraction of Magic Kingdom’s past, but its ship, the Nautilus, can still be found carved into the treehouse play area!
Many Adventures Across The Globe
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh has made its mark in four different Disney Parks around the world! It opened first in the Magic Kingdom, but four years later it made its way to Disneyland resort in Anaheim. Hong Kong Disneyland also opened this attraction along with the park itself in September 2005. Shanghai Disneyland followed suit 11 years later in 2016 with the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh as an opening day attraction.
As you can see, this silly, will, nilly, old bear is an important part of Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom! So, the next time you take a ride in one of Pooh’s honey pots, be sure to keep these six fun facts in mind.
