Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park isn’t the only attraction in town celebrating this summer – Fun Spot America, located in the heart of Orlando, is currently undergoing a massive expansion that will be revealed to the public on their Grand Opening date of June 8, 2013.

The massive expansion plans for the re-branded park, which was previously named Fun Spot Action Park, will triple it in size, going from five acres to 15. Among the attractions being added are two roller coasters, one wood and one steel, a 250-ft SkyCoaster ride similar to its sister park in nearby Kissimmee, Fla., a new go-kart track, additional new water rides and a new food court, which will bring a ton of new food options to the park. These additions are in conjunction with the new roller coaster that was recently added at Kid Spot.  

The 2,000+ foot wooden coaster at Fun Spot America is being built by Great Coasters International and will be named White Lightning, while Chance Rides is manufacturing the 1,200+ foot suspended family coaster known as Vekoma. But the central figure in this reconfiguration is certainly the massive 250-foot SkyCoaster, which will be the world’s biggest and will redefine the park for years to come.
