A classic Walt Disney World musical dinner show is making a return to the Most Magical Place on Earth for the first time in years this summer! The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is back starting June 23, 2022, and later this month guests can begin making reservations. Interested in experiencing this must-do show? We’re sharing all about Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue below!
A Brief History of Hoop-Dee-Doo
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue launched almost five decades ago on June 30, 1974 at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Walt Disney World first opened as the Vacation Kingdom in 1971, it consisted of one theme park, two resorts, a campground, and golf courses. With such a limited list of activities outside of the parks for guests, Disney saw a need for additional daytime and nighttime entertainment on property. With 750 acres of pine and cypress forest, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground felt like the perfect fit for something new.
Pioneer Hall opened at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground on April 1, 1974 with a country-Western musical act, The Star-Spangled Washboard Band. Larry Billman was the writer of this original show and would go on to be the creator of the beloved dinner show, Hoop-Dee-Do-Revue. Billman created the basic character structure of the show, with the show starting as a part of the Disney World Fine Arts College Workshop. In addition to the stage show, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue would offer guests a delicious family-style meal with all things fixings!
For more than 45 years Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue wowed audiences in Pioneer Hall with three showtimes nightly. When Walt Disney World Resort closed for the global pandemic, this unique stage show closed indefinitely as well. Now the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue will dawn a new reopening date just a week shy of 48 years from the day it first launched way back when.

This two-hour dinner show won’t be making its return to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground until June 23, 2022, but Walt Disney World guests can start making reservations this Thursday, May 26, 2022! Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue will continue to offer three shows nightly, at 4:00 PM, 6:15 PM, and 8:30 PM. Last, Category Three is on the second floor to the left and the right of the stage. Guests ages 10 and older are $66 per person and guests ages 3 to 9 are $39 per person. Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is a great option for ending a day after the Disney Water Parks or an early exit from the parks. With showtimes starting at 4:00 PM, you’ll still have time for even more family fun on property after the two-hour dinner show comes to an end.
