A brand new cinematic experience is heading to Epcot's Future World. Located within The Land pavilion, home to the ever popular Soarin' Around the World attraction, Awesome Planet will showcase the beauty and wonder of the planet we call home with all the grandeur guests have come to expect from Walt Disney World.

Disney says this new on-screen experience "showcases the spectacular beauty, diversity and dynamic story of our earth with all the grandeur guests have come to expect. Awesome Planet will stir Epcot guests and deliver an environmental message that will resonate far beyond its final scenes."

The new film will feature original nature footage and photography, immersive in-theater special effects to make you feel like your part of the action, and sequences that take place in outer space that will be created by Industrial Light & Magic (the company behind the visual effects for the Star Wars franchise).

This isn't the only new film production on its way to Epcot. An all new upcoming seamless Circle-Vision film has been previously announced for the China pavilion, updates to the Canada pavilion's film, and the new “Beauty and the Beast” Sing-Along is coming to France. The new films are part of a new era of entertainment for the park, and a transformation of Epcot itself. The new shows promise to be distinctly Disney in their view of the earth, its lands and its people.

All of these exciting new and enhanced experiences will be ready in time for the Walt Disney World Resort's 50th anniversary in 2021. Other exciting attractions, including a Guardians of the Galaxy immersive roller coaster ride and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, will also be opening at Epcot in time for the resort's 50th anniversary. The next few years are going to be an incredible time to visit Epcot and Walt Disney World.
