Performing in both English and Spanish during his time on stage, it’s no wonder why “American Idol” contestant Devin Velez has made it into the Top 10 on this season’s hit reality TV singing show. The Idol hopeful has wowed the audience night after night with his incredible voice but it’s been his ability to perform both languages that has really captured the audience, and even Walt Disney World’s ® attention. So much so that guests auditioning at The American Idol Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios ® now have the opportunity to perform songs in Spanish like “La Camisa Negra” by Juanes!

After several guest requests, the team at The American Idol Experience has added nine new Spanish language songs to the list of songs available to perform, including contemporary Spanish language songs as well as Spanish translations of classic Disney songs. Selections include:

•    “Y Yo Sigo Aqui” by Paulina Rubio
•    “La Camisa Negra” by Juanes
•    “Oye” by Beyonce
•    “Lo Que Soy (This Is Me)” by Demi Lovato
•    “Una Noche Mas” by Jennifer Lopez
•    “Ciclo Sin Fin” (“Circle of Life”) from “The Lion King”
•    “No Importa La Distancia” (“Go the Distance”) from “Hercules”
•    “Mi Reflejo” (“Reflection”) from “Mulan”
•    “En Mi Corazon Viviras” (“You’ll Be in My Heart”) from “Tarzan”

Hollywood Studios’ American Idol Experience lets wannabe singers put their singing skills to the test and audition for the chance to stand center stage and perform in front of a live audience. Just like the real show, guests will have to endure several different auditions before being named an “American Idol.” The first is an a capella performance that shows off your style, intonation and pitch. The second round includes a backstage “karaoke” style performance where you’ll choose from a list of pop favorites, classics and even Disney ® songs to perform in front of producers. If your two auditions with the producers go well, you’ll be whisked away to hair and makeup before performing in front of a panel of American Idol Judges and a live Disney ® audience.

And that’s just the start of the singing fun! If your voice takes you to the final audition, you’ll be one of three that compete at each day’s preliminary shows. If the audience and the judges liked what they heard, you’ll get to do it all again one more time for the grand finale and the chance to get a Dream Ticket, which gives you the chance to schedule an audition at an actual regional audition for “American Idol!”
