It’s time to channel the Force and polish up on your lightsaber skills for Star Wars Weekend at Disney’s Hollywood Studios ® at Walt Disney World ® Resort. From May 17 to June 9, the world of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and Yoda comes to life in an event that has brought in fans of all ages annually since 2003 and 12 years overall. Star Wars fanatics will get their fill of everything they love from the franchise.
One of the biggest draws every year is the chance for fans to meet Star Wars celebrities. Already confirmed for this year’s event is action star Ray Park, who is best remembered as Sith warrior Darth Maul from “Episode I: The Phantom Menace.” Park will be available for meet-and-greets during the first two weekends of the event. But if you’re looking to find someone straight from Endor, then you’ll love meeting Warwick Davis who played the Ewok, Wicket in “Return of the Jedi.” He’ll be at Hollywood Studios during the second and third weekend of this special event. Both stars will be there to sign autographs and take pictures with all fans. And there will be more celebrities from the Star Wars universe confirming in the future. No matter who is in town for the event the lines to meet them will be long, so it’s a good idea to grab a FASTPASS and reduce your waiting time.
Guests will still be able to star down Darth Vader, Storm Troopers and more during these select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. But it’s also a time for some of your favorite Disney characters to dress in their Star Wars best. That means Mickey Mouse will dazzle the crowds in his stylish Jedi tunic and robe, while Minnie looks adorable as Princess Leia. And there is nothing cooler than snapping a picture or two with Jedi Mickey!
There’s always a reason to come back to Hollywood Studios. Especially for Star Tours – The Adventures Continue with a slew of different story paths, over 50 combinations. If you’ve see the pod racing on Tatooine scene the first time, the next might be a visit to the Gungans in Naboo or the cool chills of Hoth. But there’s more celebrating happening outside with Hyperspace Hoopla, a huge party with your favorite Star Wars characters; we are talking about Ewoks, Stormtroopers, Wookiees, and other iconic Star Wars figures as they dance and crack jokes. But if you really want to be impressed during Star Wars Weekends, you can’t miss the parade. I don’t think you ever be able to see this many Stormtroopers march down the street, and I don’t think they’ve set their blasters to stun. In the parade, you’ll also see visiting Star Wars actors and a many other familiar faces like R2D2, C3PO, and of course Darth Vader.
But if you want to see Darth Vader close up and you feel the Force is inside your little one, Padawan in Star Wars speak. Take your children to the Jedi Training Academy and put them before the Jedi Council. They’ll train to become a Jedi, wear authentic Jedi robes, and maybe even face the Sith. Can you short round make it against Darth Maul or Darth Vader? The whole family will have a blast finding out in an event you can do for less with discount Magic Your Way ® Base Tickets.
