For the first time in Walt Disney World history, an attraction inspired by Princess and the Frog is coming to the Magic Kingdom in late 2024. Splash Mountain closed in late January 2023, and the reimagining process has already begun! Disney recently shared some new storyline details for the coming attraction and we couldn’t wait to share them with you.
Tiana’s Foods
As we already shared, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure takes place after Princess and the Frog’s storyline ends. For this new attraction, Walt Disney Imagineering wanted to create a new, original next chapter for Princess Tiana. Since Tiana achieved her dream of opening Tiana’s Palace, her successful restaurant, it was time for a new plan. Throughout the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure queue, we’ll learn about this new business venture.
That’s where Tiana’s Foods comes into play. Tiana’s Foods is an employee-owned cooperative founded in 1927. It all started when Tiana purchased the salt mine and the surrounding area from which the salt dome operates. With the help of her local community, Tiana has transformed an aging salt mine into Tiana’s Foods and has been building her new brand ever since.
This cooperative is bringing people together in the area through community efforts like cooking and gardening lessons for children of all ages. Tiana’s Foods features a boutique farm and a working and teaching kitchen. Here Tiana and her colleagues created fresh, new products from customers worldwide. Their latest endeavor is an original line of hot sauces.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
So, where does Tiana’s Foods come into play for this new attraction? According to Disney, Tiana is planning a big party to thank her family, friends, and the entire community for all of the support they’ve shown her in this new venture. The party is taking place during the Mardi Gras season, of course. While prepping for the big event, there’s a mix-up in ingredients. Tiana tells us to meet her at Tiana’s Foods to help her find the missing ingredient before the party begins.
When we get to Tiana’s Foods, we’ll see party foods being prepped and beignets loading up for the celebration. Tiana decorated her company’s facilities with local artists’ pieces. As we help Tiana find her missing ingredient, we’ll journey down the bayou with friends, both new and familiar.
With a little over a year until its debut, we’re excited to see what further details and sneak peeks will emerge in the coming months! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is heading to both coasts in late 2024. Guests will be able to experience this new attraction at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World at Disneyland Park at Disneyland Resort.
