A Walt Disney World vacation doesn't have to only cater to children or families. There are lots of fun things that adults can do around the resort as well. You may be surprised by how many amazing bars and lounges there are to explore. With relaxing getaways within the theme parks, highly themed experiences at the hotels and brand-new, hip hangouts at Disney Springs, there's something for every taste. Here are the top 10 bars at Walt Disney World.
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto
One of the most beloved and fun bars in the Disney universe, Trader Sam's at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort offers excitement, tropical island theming, delicious food, and above all else, whimsical mixed drinks. With crazy concoctions like the HippopotoMai-Tai and Shrunken Zombie Head, to exclusive drinks like the Polynesian Pearl and Nautilus, you really cannot go wrong no matter what you order. Many of the cocktails are served in keepsake glasses you can take home. Depending on what you order, you may set off special effects and animatronics around the room! How fun is that?
Nomad Lounge
When visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom, you owe it to yourself to stop into the tranquil Nomad Lounge. Tucked away near the entrance to Pandora – The World of Avatar, and seemingly a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the parks, the Nomad Lounge offers comfortable couch seating, relaxing world music and specialty cocktails featuring flavors from every continent. The lounge also offers small plates like chicken satay and pad Thai that are perfect for sharing for a laid-back meal between riding rides.
BaseLine Tap House
This new craft brew house can be found inside of Disney's Hollywood Studios, in the all-new Grand Avenue section of the park. It's a cozy corner pub that's themed like an old printing company in Los Angeles that has been converted into a hip place to drink craft beers and sample small plates featuring fresh California flavors. Order yourself a custom flight of California craft beers and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere while waiting for that next FastPass+ reservation time.
Rose & Crown British Pub
Hop over to Epcot's United Kingdom pavilion for a fresh pint at this classic British-style pub. Choose from a wide selection of British beers, ciders, scotches and signature cocktails and indulge in flavorful pub fare you won't find anywhere else in Epcot. The Rose & Crown features daily entertainment from their resident musicians, and if you stay into the evening you can get a brilliant view of the nighttime fireworks right from the back porch.
La Cava del Tequila
Located inside of the Mexico pavilion at Epcot's World Showcase, La Cava del Tequila offers over 200 different tequilas, along with top-shelf cocktails, Mexican beer and wine, and some quick snacks like queso and guacamole with chips. The dimly lit interior and festive music are perfect for escaping the heat and crowded park outside. Share a tequila sampler flight, or cool off with a refreshing frozen Avocado Margarita while you're here.
AbracadaBar
Visit this unique social club at Disney's Boardwalk, and travel back in time to the golden age of magic. Once known as a secret society for magicians, the AbracadaBar has re-opened its doors to the public, giving you the chance to drink among the props and classic magic tricks of the past. Order a vintage style drink with names like Parlor Trick and Magic Mirror, or choose from a selection of wine and beer that you'll have no problem making "disappear."
The Wave
This chic and stylish bar can be found at Disney's Contemporary Resort, just a quick monorail ride from the Magic Kingdom. It's a great place to cap off a long day at the park, and they serve New World wines, organic locally brewed beers and trendy cocktails. One of the lounge's claims to fame is the massive 24-ounce Seven Seas Lagoon, a drink so large it's served in a fishbowl with two straws.
Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar
Step into a 1940's airplane hangar that's been converted into an easygoing dive bar at Disney Springs. Indiana Jones' trusty pilot, Jock, has decorated his Hangar Bar with artifacts from Indy's wild adventures. Even the drinks are named for different moments from the films, but you don't have to be a film fan to love these amazing drinks. Plus, you can partake in some out of this world small plates like Nang Tao Spicy Popcorn Chicken or Air Pirate’s Pretzels served on a little airplane.
The Edison
One of the newest places to hang out at Disney Springs, The Edison is a hip joint modeled after a 1920s electric company that's been turned into a lavish dining establishment. While you can order food and drinks here all day, the real fun begins well after the sun goes down. That's when the burlesque-style entertainment begins. Enjoy a wide variety of bourbons, whiskeys and scotch, along with fancy cocktails that include old-fashioned ingredients like bitters and more.
Mizner's Lounge
Enjoy live jazz as you sip classic cocktails in this upscale bar at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. Live like high society as you sit back and relax with a classic Manhattan, side car or cosmopolitan. Enjoy the sweet sounds of the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra, who perform nightly beginning at 4:00 p.m. Mizner's offers complimentary spiced nuts, but upscale small plates like artisanal cheeses and tuna tartare are available if you're looking for something more filling.
