Mickey Celebrates his birthday with a trip around the world.

It’s Mickey Mouse’s birthday! Or at least it will be on November 18. To celebrate, the famous mouse is embarking on a trip around the world, where he will make surprise appearances in iconic locations. Mickey’s adventures will be chronicled and shared on Disney’s Mickey Mouse Facebook page. The adventures will end with the debut of a video highlighting Mickey’s travels set to a new song “What We Got.”

But that’s not all Mickey Mouse will be doing for his birthday. On his actual birthday, November 18, select locations at Walt Disney World Resorts, Disneyland, as well as other Disney Stores in the United States, will be distributing commemorative “Happy Birthday, Mickey!” buttons. Disney’s Magic Kingdom will celebrate with characters and performers in a special birthday-themed edition of the Move It! Shake It! Street Party. Special sweet treats will also be available in honor of the Big Cheese himself including a mini Mickey Dome Cake at Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs, Mickey’s Birthday cupcake at Starring Rolls Café and The Trolley Car at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Mickey’s Cookie & Cream Cheesecake at Epcot, to name a few.

In addition to the sumptuous sweets, the Disney Channel will also air the Emmy-winning new Mickey Mouse shorts throughout the day and premiere two new cartoons series featuring Mickey Mouse. D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, Oh My Disney, Babble and other Disney sites will also be posting Mickey-related videos, galleries, stories, crafts, recipes and shareable leading up to the big birthday.

Mickey Mouse’s birthday is celebrated in honor of the release of his first theatrical film, Steamboat Willie, on November 18, 1928 at the Colony Theater in New York City.
