Throughout the year, Walt Disney World has made several changes to the Central Hub in Magic Kingdom, between the end of Main Street U.S.A. and Cinderella Castle. So far, guests have seen the addition of more walkways, new water fountains surrounded by small statues of Disney characters, walk-through gardens, and new built-in seating in the gardens. Perhaps the biggest change to Magic Kingdom’s Central Plaza is Cinderella Castle.
Disney has recently debuted new turrets on the famous Castle. The turrets have been designed to give the Castle an even bigger presence in the area and now help connect the Castle to the expanded Plaza. The new turrets extend out to the side and certainly add to the overall royal look of Cinderella Castle.
The hub construction began early this year in hopes to ease pedestrian traffic at the center of the park. Now, not only has traffic lessened but guests get to enjoy peaceful gardens and fountains, Disney characters, a brand new look for Cinderella Castle and even a new FastPass+ fireworks viewing area.
The fireworks viewing area is located in the area’s new sculpted gardens. One is located in front of Casey’s Corner and the other is by the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. Both offer built-in benches for a more comfortable experience. Guests even use the benches to stand on to better see the parades or fireworks. When there aren’t any fireworks or parades, the gardens are a great place to relax in between Magic Kingdom’s many rides, shows and attractions. It is also the perfect spot to snap photos of the updated Cinderella Castle. These gardens offer unparalleled views of the new turrets.
Even if you don’t have a FastPass+ for the fireworks or parades, you can still enjoy both in the Plaza’s new widened walkways without the fear of being in the way of passersby. The new walkways are also very helpful for when you are trying to leave for the day.
