Walt Disney World recently announced the name of the upcoming Signature Restaurant at Epcot’s Japan Pavilion. Takumi-Tei, set to open this summer, will provide guests a signature dining experience inspired by the natural beauty of Japan.

Takumi-Tei means “house of the artisan.” Disney said in a statement that, “The design celebrates the relationships between Japanese craftsmanship and the natural world, while the food is inspired by the wonderful collaboration between nature and takumi, the artisan.”

The restaurant will have a few different themed rooms including Material Room (check-in, Lobby), War Room, Water Room, Washi Room, Wood Room, Stone Room and Earth Room. Guests can enjoy a Chef’s Table dining experience in the Water Room.

The upscale menu will highlight wagyu beef, and there will be a multi-course wasting menu featuring traditional tea service. Signature cocktails and premium sake will be available along with wine and craft beers.

Takumi-Tei will be operated by Mitsubishi USA, which operates the merchandise, restaurants (Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining) and kiosks in the Japan pavilion.

There is still no exact opening date for the new restaurant. Stay tuned for more details.
