Soon, Busch Gardens Tampa will go from world-renowned thrill park to a park of terror as the annual Halloween event, Howl-O-Scream ushers in the thing of nightmares with bloodthirsty creatures, deranged clowns, drooling zombies and more. The horror will take place just about everywhere you walk from haunted houses to scare zones, shows and the park’s most chilling and thrilling rides.

Let’s take a closer look at this year’s many screams:

Howl-O-Scream 2022 Haunted Houses

Stranglewood Estate – New for 2022
Howl-O-Scream’s newest haunted house invites guests into the once happy and loving home Strangelwood Estate. What used to be filled with laughter and lavish parties now is filled with evil spirits and darkness. You certainly won’t feel at home here.

Returning Haunted Houses

Witch of The Woods – There is nothing scarier than walking into a dark forest at night. Busch Gardens knows this, which is why its house With of the Woods returns again this year. Guests will try to escape the demonic disciples that lurk in the dark forest.

The Forgotten – What’s a Halloween without blood-thirsty vampires? In The Forgotten house, starving vampires plot their revenge as they lurk inside a quarry.

Deathwater Bayou Blood Moon – It’s a full moon at Deathwater Bayou Blood Moon and ravenous werewolves with glowing eyes and blood-stained teeth are on the hunt for human flesh in this creepy haunted house.

The Residence – Home For The Holidays – Revamped for 2022, The Residence - Home for the Holidays in anything but cheery. Guests will step inside the home of the Clark Family, an everyday suburban family who all appear to be normal. But in time you will see the Clark’s are into sacrifice and anybody who enters their home becomes a victim.

Howl-O-Scream 2022 Scare Zones

No corner of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is safe during Howl-O-Scream 2022. In fact, from the moment you enter the park you’ll hear a screeching welcome from the undead. From then on it’s all about escaping the many scare zones full of ghoulish hordes and scare squads who won’t quit. This year's event includes a few new haunts as well as returning screams.

New Scare Zones:

  • Ravens Mill – A lot can happen in a cornfield at night. Including scarecrows that come to life to kill. Keep your head on a swivel for this scare zone
  • Beyond the Veil – Lurking in the forests, aka, streets of Howl-O-Scream are other worldly creatures looking to harm including orcs and fairies. You never know when they might pop out to scare you.

Returning Scare Zones

  • The Junkyard – You’ll find more than junk in this scare zone. What you do find is terrifying.
  • In The Shadows – Those spooky legends of the woods are all true and you’ll experience all of them as you step into The Shadows Scare Zone.

Howl-O-Scream Live Shows

Take a break from the haunts and howls and head to one of Howl-O-Scream’s many shows this year. Unlike anything you’ve ever seen, these shows are nothing short of entertaining and alarming.

NEW: 50/50 Choose Your Fate
Your fate rests in the hands of a demented family game show host in this new show. As the name implies you have a 50/50 chance of surviving and even if you do, you will be haunted by what you see forever.

Fiends Show
Enjoy an infectious dance party with the Fiends Show at Festival Field Stage. Captivating creatures of the night will keep your heart racing with their deranged dance party.

The Rolling Bones
For some deadly live music head to Dragon Fire Grill for the skeleton cover band The Rolling Bones.

Cirque X-Scream
Scream in shock as aerial performers excited with their incredible acts in this stunt filled show.

Thrill Rides
Screams aren’t reserved just for Howl-O-Scream. Year round, guests can feel the thrill of Busch Gardens’ many roller coasters and this Halloween season is no different. Top off your bone-chilling night with a ride on one of the park’s many scream-worthy coasters like SheiKra, Cheetah Hunt, Tigris, Falcon’s Fury, Cobra’s Curse, the new Iron Gwazi, and even the Howl-O-Scream ride Crash Test Clowns where road rage turns into an appetite for human brains!
