SeaWorld Orlando’s Kraken will upgrade into a virtual reality experience

We haven’t even hit the holidays yet but 2017 is already shaping up to be quite the year for SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment just announced major new ride additions, a virtual reality experience and new shows and events coming to both parks.

"We are extremely excited with the scope and depth of the new attractions and events coming to our SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parks in 2017," said Joel Manby, President and Chief Executive Officer of SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc in a press release. "In developing new experiences we want guests to have fun, but also be inspired, and our parks are uniquely suited to create meaningful and fun vacations."  He added, "We want our guests to share experiences that matter, and our 2017 additions truly reinforce that mission."

Here’s what you can expect in 2017:

The legendary coaster Kraken will be transformed into a virtual reality roller coaster experience. It will be the only VR coaster in Florida. The experience will take guests on a deep sea mission where you will run into creatures inspired by extinct and legendary animals, including the Kraken. Thanks to headsets that are integrated both mechanically and electronically into the coaster train, the VR experience is a one-of-a-kind adventure.
